iKnow F1 - Formula One on your iPod Requires an iPod running Note Reader - check Apple website
for software updates
CURRENT
VERSION - v4.0
Sometimes you just need to know something right now - It
might be some details about a particular driver this season,
or it might be some in-depth info from one of last year's
races, what a double-waved yellow flag means (let's face
it even Fernando Alonso has problems
with that one...), or you might be in an argument over
who won the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix.... (James Hunt in a
Hesketh).
Well
now thanks to some alarming geekiness and a fair
amount of hard work, we at antdavidson.com are
proud to present iKnow
F1 - an F1 encyclopedia for your iPod,
so you can check up on just those kind of things
on the tube, bus, plane, in the car (so long as
you're not driving), in the pub - wherever and
whenever you want.
Based
originally on a request for enhancements to the F1
iCal this is a small bundle of files
that you simply drag into the "Notes" folder
of your iPod, and which are accessed by its NoteReader.
Once on your iPod iKnow F1 shows
up as a navigable "book" subdivided
into categories of information and stats by years.
It
has a wealth of general information such as an
F1 glossary, stuff on regulation changes over the
last few years, results of Driver and Constructor
titles - and indeed all race winners - back to
1950, as well as more detailed reference on last
season, web links and even a small treasure trove
of Murray Walker quotes.
The
current version is the v4.0 - do check back for
newer versions as enhancements and additional content
are added. Version 4.0 includes a complete "2006
in Full" section, along with new rules and
regs, and all practice, qualifying and race 'events'
set at local time.
Also
if you're a member of the Ant-F1 forum, you can download
an exclusive Anthony Davidson version with extra
biography, career stats, interview and other special
features. Just go to the fan forum and look in the
"Exclusives & Downloads" section.
It's
great... it really is... and at a diddy little
100k download it's tiny... really tiny... tinier
than Nick Heidfeld tiny... so download it and enjoy
it.
To
install, simply download the ZIP file below, decompress
("unZIP") it on your desktop - and open up
the "Welcome to iKnow F1" folder. Follow the
enclosed instructions (basically, drag the enclosed "iKnow
F1" folder from the desktop into the "Notes" folder
on your mounted iPod.
